Cookiepolicy
What cookies are, which ones we use on ourivesariakiko.com, what they are for and how you can control them.
This page complements our Privacy Policy.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit it. They are used to make the website work, to remember your choices and, in some cases, to measure what happens on the website or show you relevant advertising.
We also use similar technologies, such as the browser's local storage and measurement pixels. Whenever we talk about cookies on this page, we include these technologies.
How you control cookies
On your first visit we show you a notice where you choose which categories you accept. You can change your mind at any time, using the cookie preferences icon that is always available on the website.
In that panel you will find the up-to-date list of each cookie, with its name, purpose and expiry. That is the list that counts, because it is generated in real time and follows the tools that are active.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Note that if you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the website will stop working, namely the cart and checkout.
The four categories we use
Strictly necessary
They are essential for the website to work and do not depend on your consent. Without them you cannot browse or buy.
- Keeping your cart between pages and between visits
- Keeping you signed in to your customer account
- Processing checkout and payment securely
- Saving your language and country choices
- Saving your cookie preferences, so we do not ask again
- Preventing fraud and automated attacks
They are set by the Shopify platform, which hosts the store, by the consent management tool and by the payment providers.
Performance and analytics
They help us understand how the website is used, which pages are viewed and where people run into difficulties. They are used in aggregate, to improve the store.
- Counting visits and page views
- Traffic source, that is, how you found us
- Shopify's internal statistics on store performance
- Google Analytics
Advertising and measurement
They are only set with your consent. They are used to measure the results of our campaigns and to show you relevant ads outside our website.
- Google Ads, including remarketing and conversion measurement
- Meta, for Facebook and Instagram, including the measurement pixel
These cookies may create audience segments based on your browsing behaviour. We do not make automated decisions with legal effects on you.
Functionality
They improve the experience without being essential. If you refuse them, the website still works, but loses some conveniences.
- Remembering recently viewed products
- Newsletter sign-up forms
- Instalment payment options, such as Klarna, and wallets such as PayPal
Third-party cookies
Some cookies are set by companies that provide services to us. Each one handles data according to its own policy:
- Shopify - store platform and checkout
- Google - analytics and advertising
- Meta - advertising on Facebook and Instagram
- Klarna and PayPal - payment methods
- Consentik - recording and managing your consent
Some of these providers are based outside the European Union, namely in the United States. In those cases, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards under the GDPR, such as standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission or adequacy decisions.
How long they stay
It depends on the cookie. Session cookies disappear when you close the browser. Persistent cookies stay for a set period, from a few days to two years. The exact period for each one is in the cookie preferences panel.
The record of your consent is kept as proof, under the GDPR.
Your rights
You have the right to access your data, correct it, ask for it to be deleted, restrict or object to its processing, and withdraw your consent at any time without affecting what has already been done on that basis.
To exercise any of these rights, write to comercial@ourivesariakiko.com or use the form on the GDPR page. We reply within one month at most.
If you believe your data is not being handled correctly, you can file a complaint with the CNPD, Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados, at www.cnpd.pt.
Changes
We may update this page whenever we change the tools we use. The version in force is always the one published, with the date shown below.
